On March 6-7, 2025, our Lab member and PhD candidate Emmanouil Nisyrios, in his role as an official Ambassador for Greece in the Association for European Transport (AET), participated in the AET Ambassadors Meeting alongside the AET Board and Council at the University of Porto, Portugal. Over two days of insightful discussions and networking, the event focused on key mobility challenges and future transport strategies.
Highlights of the event included:
- Technical visit to CEiiA – Centre of Engineering and Product Development, exploring cutting-edge innovations in engineering and mobility.
- In-person participation in the AET Transport & Mobility Forum hybrid webinar on “Integrating transport step by step: From ticketing to interoperable mobility.”
- Engaging workshops and brainstorming sessions on:
- The role of compact urban vehicles & fleet sharing in shaping future mobility.
- Ticketing & Carbon Credits as a sustainable mobility model.
- AET 2050 – envisioning future scenarios for the association.
Additionally, AET Ambassadors presented country-specific action plans to promote AET and the European Transport Conference (ETC), while preparing for ETC2025 in Antwerp (September 17-19, 2025).
This event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaborations, exchange ideas, and contribute to the future of European transport. A special thanks to the organizers from the University of Porto and fellow AET ambassadors for making this such a valuable experience.
